Bali or Elang-Elang thatch is aesthetically the smoothest thatch available. Bali thatch is symbolic of a beautiful weave pattern on the underside.
Most structures have accentuated hips and a thick eave layer. Bali thatch should be used in regions with mild winds. In windy areas netting or a thick framework of bamboo is required to keep the thatch down.
Bali thatch is laid approximately 2" - 3" on center on rafters that are 16" - 24" apart depending on design criteria.
